I have an absolute passion for landscape images. I never cease to be amazed at the beauty of our mountains, hills and coast and how the light is constantly changing. With my work I am seeking to convey the sense of emotion and wonder I have experienced in great places when out walking and hiking. For each image in my gallery I have added some words about what inspired me to make the image, how I approached it and some relevant technical details.
My photography is the product of two distinct objectives: exploring photographic 'ideas' or ways of seeing and documenting or celebrating 'places' that matter to me. 'Ideas and Place' are difficult to disentangle in my work as they usually combine but I have arranged the Gallery to display both aspects. Portfolios one to five are images that illustrate five 'ideas' that (amongst others) I have been exploring in my photography. The second five portfolios are collections of images that are primarily about documenting and celebrating 'places' I know well.
