'Gnarled Tree'
I’ve been relatively immune in the past to LTS (Lone Tree Syndrome), but I succumbed here after a steep climb up to this gorge in Torridon. The shape of these trees were fabulous, and their light colour contrasted with the early onset of Autumn to produce an image I find dramatic but also rather beautiful. It does some justice to a wonderful place.
It took quite some time to get a satisfactory viewpoint and balance to the image and I waited for the sun to go behind a cloud to produce the desired diffused light that brought out the colour in the trees and helped to stop the tree from burning out.
Technical Details - Linhof Technikardan, 240mm lens. Velvia 50. Scanned with an Epson V700.
