'First Light over Ravenscar'
This visit to Robin Hoods Bay was as close to a perfect dawn as any I have experienced. The light was spectacular from first light to nearly 40 minutes after sunrise. The atmosphere was sublime.
The challenge with this picture was the contrast range. I employed staggered graduated neutral density filters to hold both the detail in the pre dawn sky and the first light striking the beach pools.
Technical Details: Linhof Technikardan, Lens 125mm, Graduated Filters. Film Fuji Provia 100, scanned with an Epson V700.
