Depth
Portfolio 5: Photography is a 2 dimensional visual medium viewed by people who see the landscape in three dimensions and perceive it through multiple senses. Creating and suggesting depth in the mind of the viewer is a key element of my approach and something I constantly strive for in my image making.
'Scale Slot'
Made on a trip to the Lakes, I particularly like this image because of the dark slot. It causes the eye to peer into it and there is just enough light inside to make out there is something there.
As a result, the brain imagines a depth to the scene that would not otherwise be there on a 2D picture.
Technical Details: Linhoff Technikardan employing front swing and tilt to focus and rear tilt to control persepctive, 240mm lens, Velvia 50. No filtration.
