Subjects of Wonder
Portfolio 2: Some subjects have such an intrinsic quality to them and provoke such a strong interest for me that I am almost compelled to attempt an image. At such times I think the skill of the photographer is in finding a way of letting the subject do the talking.

'Locked Door'

I found this padlocked door on Lindisfarne. There are some really interesting old beach huts shaped like upside down boats near the harbour and as I examined them this lock caught my eye.

I had considered shading the lock from the bright sun, but I think the shadow is a critical part of the image as it helps to pose the question of what might be behind the door.
