Alchemy
Sometimes a picture is just a little more than the sum of its parts.
'Living Fossil'
This image was made at Robin Hoods Bay. I had seen many similar remarkable geological features (I understand this is a septarian concretion) to this one at the bay before and had been meaning to photograph one for some time.
I got an opportunity on a trip out with Dave Tolcher and Tim Parkin. The image has a dynamic energy to it that I can't quite explain - it seems almost to be alive and moving.
Technical Details: Linhof Technikardan, 240mm lens, Velvia 50, no filtration.
