'Heathered Horcum'
The hole of horcum is a challenging place to make a strong image. I have scouted it many times and always thought that this composition could make an nice image. But it needed something different.
The opportunity came one evening whilst I was on the way over to visit Dave Tolcher and his family in Robin Hoods Bay. The heather was in full glory and as I passed over the Moors I noticed that there was some scattered raking light.
I parked up and dashed round to the spot I had scouted and hastily set up. The light was just about perfect and I just managed to catch the last raking light striking the edge of the hole and the path. I was able to make one image (on provia because I was worried out about the dynamic range).
