Sometimes a picture is just a little more than the sum of its parts.
'Let Sleeping Logs Lie'
I made this image of a 'sleeping' log at Skipwith.
Skipwith is being regenerated as an area of Wetland Heath and there are a number of areas where old trees have been felled and logs remain. I have made a series of images of the decaying bark.
I love the way the 'eye' seems to imply the log is still alive watching and the grasses (darkened through rain) are superb.
Technical Details: Linhof Technikardan, 240mm lens, Velvia 50, no filtration.
