'Falls of Light'
'Falls of Light'

Whilst the Yorkshire Dales may lack the open expanses of water that other areas have, it has more than its fair share of waterfalls.

It is tempting to concentrate on 'full on' images of a fall (I have many!), however more often it can be rewarding to work the location and seek a more unique and different perspective.

Here the quality of light at Wain Wath Force in Swaledale was simply magnificent.

Linhof Technikardan, 240mm lens, Fuji Velvia 50. Graduated filter. Rear and front tilt was used to adjust the perspective balance between the foreground and background and to adjust the plane of focus.

Location: Wain Wath Force, Swaledale, North Yorkshire
