'Zigs and Zags' was conceived right at the end of a trip to Northumberland. I had feasted for 48 hours on various different geological patterns but this particular patch pointed out by my father proved a real challenge.
I was sure that there was an image in there but no matter how I looked I could not see the right result and the conditions of bright sunlight were against me.
However persistence paid off and I finally saw what I was after and setup. Fortune was favouring me that day as suddenly a sea mist came in allowing me to make the image in the diffuse light it needed.
This image has the dynamic balance or compositional harmony I look for in my images.
