The wolds is a beautiful part of the country but it is challenging photographically. Images are rarely handed on a plate and the photographer has to work hard to 'dig out' a strong image.
I had my eye on this old burned log in Millington for some time and when I had a few spare minutes one evening I decided to have another go.
Learning how to use my large format camera effectively and efficiently at close to lifesize is one of the most important technical skills I have learned over the years and it has repayed me many times, opening up the kind of image that transforms the seemingly ordinary into the extraordinary.
This older image has become seed image B for a new project called 'Bark'
