This image was the culmination of several months of work looking for distinctive and strong patterns in the landscape. Most of these images didn’t work (with the possible exception of ‘River Meets Sea’) but it trained my sight to spot patterns more easily. Having seen this one the challenge was how to capture it without falling 20 feet into Glen Etive - it took quite some time to setup.
For me it is the colour in the rock contrasting with the greens that really makes the image.
