This picture is all about light. I nearly didn't manage anything. It was blowing a gale and I was pretty sure my Wista and Gitzo 1228 wouldn't be stable enough. Having got setup, we waited 25 minutes and nothing happened.
Then suddenly there was 30 seconds of light. The transformation was amazing. I just got chance to make this image and it was gone.
I have an image made a few minutes before the light came up and the contrast is unbelieveable. This was the image that finally made me realise it was light I was photographing, not the scene.
Technical Details - Wista DX, 90mm lens, 2 stop grad. Velvia 50. Scanned with an Epson V700.
