I have long held the view that one does not need to visit the honey pot locations to make strong, satisfyting images. The most amazing of subjects can be found at the most ordinary of places close to one's home if the time is taken to see. This image was made a few miles from my house at Skipwith, an area of open wetland heath with a mixture of grassland and silver birch woodland.
I found this overturned tree in the middle of single area of otherwise unassuming grassland that yielded five strong images for me over a period of several months.
